Kingston has released a series of new enterprise solid-state drives which are Kingston DC500 series SSDs including the DC500R SSD and the Kingston DC500M SSD. And this post will introduce some detailed specifications of these two Kingston DC500 series SSDs.
Kingston Launches New DC500 Series SSDs Including DC500R and DC500M
Kingston is a multinational computer technology corporation that develops and sells storage devices including flash memory products, solid-state drives, headsets, keyboards or other electronic products. Kingston has rolled out a lot of solid-state drives with good performance. For example, it has launched the A2000 and KC2000 series SSDs.
And now, Kingston releases a series of new enterprise solid-state drives which are Kingston DC500 series SSDs. They include the Kingston DC500R SSD and Kingston DC500M SSD. And in the following part, we will show some detailed information on these two Kingston DC500 series SSDs.
The new Kingston DC500R SSD and the DC500M SSD product lines are designed for read-intensive and mixed workloads respectively, with the endurance ratings of 0.5 and drive writes per day.
The target market of Kingston DC500 series SSDs is the second-tier cloud service providers and system integrators.
The Kingston DC500 series SSDs are featured with SATA III 6Gb/s interface with the 3D NAND TLC technology. And they come with large hard drive capacities ranging from 480GB to 3.84TB. With so large hard drive capacities, they enable users to save plenty of files or save the backup images. These two Kingston DC500 series SSDs also provide fast transmission rate.

For the 3.84TB model of Kingston DC500R SSD, its sequential read and write speed can reach up to 555MB/s and 520MB/s. The random 4K read and write IOPS are respectively 98000 IOPS and 28000 IOPS.
For the 3.84TB model of Kingston DC500M SSD, its sequential read and write speed are about 555MB/s and 520MB/s. And the random 4K read and write IOPS are respectively about 98000 IOPS and 75000 IOPS.
The endurance of these two Kinston DC500 series SSD are also different. As for the 3.84TB Kingston DC500R SSD, its endurance is about 3504TBW, while the endurance of 3.84TB Kingston DC500M SSD is about 9110TBW.
The Kingston is an ideal choice for read-intensive applications such as boot up, web servers, virtual desktop infrastructure, operational database, and real-time analytics. It can also provide the QoS needed in demanding read-centric environment with its consistent I/O and latency performance.
In addition, these two Kingston DC500 series SSD still work with Phison, adopting the latest Phison S12 SATA SSD controller. This feature enables it to provide some common functions with the enterprise SSD including the end-to-end data path protection, Phison third-generation LDPC error protection, and the power loss protection.
What’s more, these two Kingston DC500 series SSDs are backed with a 5-year limited warranty so as to provide protection for your data and files on these solid-state drives. However, you can also choose to sync important files to other locations with the professional file sync software to offer better data protection.
