Since the official introduction to the next generation of Windows operating system (OS) – Windows 11 on June 24, 2021, there has being a hot topic related to the new system both online and offline. What’s the release date of Windows 11? Where to get Windows 11? Can I run Windows 11? What’s new in Windows 11? What are the differences between Windows 11 and Windows 10? How to install Windows 11? Will Windows 11 bring us problems and so on.
So many questions are involved in the latest OS. Also, there are numerous articles, blogs, posts, forums, videos, etc. introducing the big Microsoft software.
Actually, early before the official introduction of Windows 11, many people were wondering about whether there will be a Windows 11 or not since Microsoft only claims the next generation of Microsoft software. Although most of us know there will be a new version of the operating system, we are not sure whether it will be called Windows 11 or not.
Now, it is the fact that the next version of OS after current Windows 10 is called Windows 11, code name Sun Valley, just like most of us expected.
What’s Next After Windows 11?
From Windows 7 to the upcoming Windows 11, we go through Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10, missing Windows 9. So, it’s reasonable that users’ unsure about the name of Windows 11 until it finally be approved by Microsoft.
Then, what’s next after Windows 11? Will it be Windows 12 or Windows x (skipping one or more numbers)? We don’t know.
This question reminds me of the upgrade history of the iPhone. From the first generation of iPhone to the upcoming iPhone 13 later this year, say, on September 24 according to the tradition of Apple, it has gone through iPhone 3, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone X (iPhone 10), iPhone 11, and iPhone 12, with iPhone 2 and iPhone 9 missing.
In general, both Windows and iPhone release versions according to the number order. So, it is of great chance that the next-generation OS after Windows 11 is Windows 12.
Maybe Microsoft itself doesn’t know yet since they are now busy fixing the problems of the Windows 11 Insider Preview build reported by its Windows Insider Program members.
Or, maybe a giant like Microsoft already has a plan for a system after Win11. Or, even much further plans. Nobody knows.
However, it matters little or even nothing to some users. All they care about is the features and performance of the system they finally get, no matter what name it calls.
Are You Expecting the New Version After Windows 11?
If you have already been using Windows 11 by joining the Windows Insider Program and get the first Windows 11 Insider Preview build 22000.51, you will find it is full of bugs, errors, problems, and issues just like the previous beta versions of previous Windows when they are pending to final release.
Therefore, you may want to uninstall Windows 11 and go back to Windows 10. Or, expecting the next version of Windows after Win11 in advance.
Even if you haven’t yet experienced Windows 11, hearing about the buggy and unstable Windows 11, you might want to insist on the current operating system and jump directly to the next-next-generation of Windows (OS after Windows 11) when it comes out.
Anyway, you have to wait for the official release of Windows 11, experience several years for Windows 11 finally replaces most of its previous versions, and the plan for the next-generation Microsoft software in such as in 2029.
