With the release of Windows 10, version 1903 on May 21, 2019, some technical veterans give their reviews as soon as possible. Among which is a Windows 10 review: Windows 10 has been as good as it gets. How do they come to this conclusion? Let’s have a look together.

Why Windows 10 Is as Good as It Gets?

Up to now, Microsoft has released scores of Windows operating systems, from Windows 1.0 to Windows 10. Each Windows operating system enjoys several increasingly improved versions as well. For example, the oldest version of Windows 10 – version 1507 was released in July 2015 and the latest version of Windows 10 – version 1903 was released in May 2019. During the less than four years, Windows 10 has experienced 8 versions.

Windows 10 PC versions

As for professional technical practitioners and enthusiastic IT lovers, they have patience to wait for Windows putting forward better Windows versions because they know it takes time for Windows to improve itself step by step.

Take Windows XP for example. Users complained that the first released XP was short of plenty of security  . Three years later, Windows Service Pack 2 added a rebuilt firewall which was enabled by default and supported for NX bit. It also disabled the Windows Messenger service after this service was abused by spammers.

But for common users, it is not the case. When Windows 10, version 1507 came out in July 2015, this version suffered lots of negative news. Negative reviews of Windows 10 at that time were everywhere.

Lots of critical articles such as “10 reasons you shouldn’t upgrade to Windows 10” and “Thanks, Microsoft, but I’m still saying no to Windows 10” appeared. A great number of users even stated that they would choose Windows 7 instead of Windows 10.

Why did they say that? Is Windows 10 good or bad?

Evidently, there is a positive answer to the latter question. Generally speaking, Windows 10 enjoys better performance compared with previous Windows operating systems. However, users have gotten used to Windows 7 and they would amplify the drawbacks of Windows 10 features.

The tactics Microsoft used to promote Windows 10 stirred serious discontents. Users argued that Windows employed deceptive user interfaces to coax users into installing the operating system and downloading installation files, making it difficult for them to reject Windows upgrade without their consent.

Apart from improper promoting tactics, Windows 10 was also accused of privacy and data collection. Because the “Expressing” setting was enabled by default, Windows can send plenty of personal information to Microsoft and other parties, including the collection of user contacts and even the appearance of users’ computer. Users also worried they would suffer virus attacks.

Coupled with these reasons mentioned above, users held more negative attitudes towards Windows 10.

However, it seems unwise to state that Windows 10 is as good as it gets because Microsoft is bound to announce better Windows operating systems in the future.

Why Windows 10 is as good as it gets? You can’t deny Windows is constantly optimizing itself, although these iterative changes may not convince all the skeptics. Windows 10, version 1903 is more problem-free compared with its previous versions.

Nothing can be considered as good as it gets. But Windows 10, version 1903 is relatively as good as it gets now.
